What to see in Skiathos
Being an island, things to do in Skiathos are mostly related to the sea.
Starting from the beaches, where you can relax, have fun or do physical activity, to the restaurants where fresh fish stands out, even if there is also excellent meat on the island.
Then there is a peculiarity of the Skiathos airport, which has become a real attraction for tourists.
If a sun and sea holiday is limiting for you, there is also more to do: monuments, monasteries, villages and museums.
In the evening, for those looking for a little fun, you can immerse yourself in the alleys of Papadiamantis Street or in the clubs and bars of the local nightlife.
For sports enthusiasts, there are breathtaking running routes or trails for trekking.
Beaches
Skiathos has more than 60 beaches. They range from coves accessible only by sea to long beaches with all sorts of comforts.
The ideal is to rent a car, a scooter or a quad bike and discover different beaches every day.
Among the most famous is Koukounaries: large outdoor parking with direct access to the beach, umbrellas and sunbeds of different types, beach bar where you can have an aperitif or have lunch.
If, on the other hand, you love the wilder and less crowded environments, you cannot miss Mandraki, Ligaries, Kechria, Megas Aselinos, Agistro Beach and Mikros Aselinos.
The food
Being a very touristy island, there is no shortage of restaurants, bars and ice cream parlors.
Among the alleys of the center we can find all kinds, but also in the hills, in more isolated areas, there are excellent ones.
Obviously in the hills the view reigns supreme, the fish is fresh and, after dinner, you can go down to the center in a few minutes for an ice cream and a walk, taking a look at the souvenir and clothing shops.

The Bourtzi peninsula
If one morning you do not feel like going to the beach and you want to dedicate yourself to complete relaxation in the open air, you can take a good book and go to Bourtzi, between the new and old ports. It is a peninsula surrounded by greenery, where tall shrubs create shaded areas overlooking the sea. There are benches facing the sea, there is a nice bar where you can sip a cold drink while admiring the view together with the numerous cats that walk around. There is also a small theater which hosts shows and concerts of all kinds.
